Grounding

In my recent blog about your immune system, environment & toxic load, I listed 17 ways to reduce your toxic load. Two of the ideas relate to grounding and how you can de-stress your body and reset your electrical circuits. Grounding will not only improve your mental and physical health but will also help reduce inflammation & body fat.

Grounding, or earthing, relates to connecting electrically with the earth.  A growing body of research has found several health advantages as a result of grounding your physical body.

Regrettably, with our contemporary rubber or plastic soled footwear and enclosed bedrooms, we have less of natural electrical interaction with the earth, unless we’re barefoot outside.

This electrical connection is vital for a couple of reasons:

  1. The earth is a massive repository of negatively loaded free electrons. The cells in our body are incapable of neutralising the positive charge, which emanates from things like electron-deficient free radicals without a connection to the earth.  The consequence of excess positive charge in the blood can be seen very clearly by how our cells are attracted to each other and clump together (see Scientific Research).
  2. Our current environment is full of electromagnetic radiation from phones, internet-connected devices, 3, 4 & 5G masts, radio & TV broadcasts, WiFi, Bluetooth, power-lines and domestic wiring.  This electromagnetic radiation induces energies in our bodies, agitating the trillions of subtle electrical connections which are an indispensable part of the function of our body’s systems.  By being grounded to earth, we significantly lessen the levels of these induced energies.

Touch The Elements of Nature

Get out in your garden or a park, put your hands in the soil, walk or sit on the grass for 20 minutes a day, swim in the sea, fill your home with plants and play with pets if possible for this too will improve your internal microbiome and the microbiome of your home.

Use Grounding Products 

If grounding with the earth is tricky and you spend many hours a day on your computer inside, then purchase one of these grounding mats to put under your laptop, to rest your feet on while you work or even use as a yoga mat to reduce your EMF load.
