You'll love my clean-eating poke bowl recipe if you're looking to support your overall health and boost the results of your cleanse if you're joining me. With another full moon upon us and an exciting planetary alignment of Mercury and Saturn on February 24th, now is a great time to think about supporting your Gut-Brain Axis and doing a Gut Cleanse.

It's easy for your gut microbiome to get out of balance with the added treats and alcohol over the holidays. Such habits tend to increase candida and fungus overgrowth, plus they can feed parasites that mainly feed on glucose from carbs and sugar, especially since, by now, many New Year's resolutions may have fallen away.

The goal is to finish your cleanse by April 17th, after the worm moon, just in time for the Easter holidays. This date also coincides with the religious holidays of Lent, Ramadan, and Passover.

So choose 30 days that will work for you and the Rejuv pack that best suits your goals. Set yourself up to win by avoiding a time with lots of parties and events. And for all my ladies, starting two weeks before or just after your next period is ideal to get some good momentum.

The Detox Poke Bowl Recipe

This is my best detox-friendly poke bowl recipe and it serves two people.

  • Two medium beetroots grated
  • two cups of watercress
  • One handful of sprouts (alfalfa, mung bean or broccoli sprouts)
  • Two medium carrots sliced in thin julienne strips or thin shavings
  • 2 cups of black rice, broccoli or cauliflower rice
  • One sliced red onion
  • Two radishes
  • One avocado
  • Optional: Wild fish or organic grass-fed protein of your choice

Choose two bowls and put half of the ingredients into each one. Start with the broccoli rice as the base, then place all the other ingredients in a circle on top: grated beetroot, sprouts, carrot, watercress, onions, avocado & radishes.

You can also add fish to this gut health detox meal. I recommend small wild fish, such as seabass, sea brim, or trout, because they contain fewer heavy metals. Adding green leaves, such as watercress, to any meal with fish is always key to removing heavy metals.

Garlic, Ginger & Sesame Detox Poke Bowl Dressing

Choose an empty jam jar, mix these ingredients & drizzle over the Detox Poke Bowl.

  • Two tablespoons soy sauce (I use Liquid aminos by Bragg as it is gluten-free)
  • Two tablespoons of toasted sesame oil
  • Two small garlic cloves, grated
  • ½ teaspoon ginger, grated
  • 1/4 teaspoon Celtic sea salt

Garnish with sauerkraut or kimchi plus sesame, green pumpkin seeds, edamame and two wedges of lime per bowl.

Enjoy!
